Packaging Developer

Are you able to deliver and implement 'physical' packaging products from design to concept to launch? Can you liaise between multiple departments and teams whilst ensuring packaging development timescale is realistic? If so, we could have the perfect opportunity for you.

Main responsibilities

 

• Ensure all packaging implementation is aligned to the NPD process and launches on time, including both new packaging and specification changes to current packaging. Liaise with Product Development Manager to ensure all new packaging projects are cost effective and meet commercial target aspirations

 

 

• Provide Gold Standard Keylines to M&S ensuring placement of date code boxes and 2D barcodes are agreed internally

 

• Liaise with Product Development teams to ensure that packaging development timescale is realistic and that the implementation progresses in accordance with the critical path

 

• Liaise with packaging suppliers to ensure new packaging is being developed to the required timelines and parameters, providing clear feedback on samples required and amends. Ensuring the team have a clear view on material lead times, MOQ and cost

 

• Attend and coordinate packaging trials and travel tests for ‘new’ packaging formats and materials, ensuring that they are carried out effectively in coordination with the NPD process

 

• Attend project meetings to provide updates on packaging development

 

• Support the artwork team by signing off artwork, specifically the keyline, text direction, glue lines, 2D placement and barcode, use by box

 

• Ensure that satisfactory specification details for new items are loaded onto the FIND system prior to launch, ideally ahead of Pre Production trials and this is maintained

 

• Provide technical support for packaging issues e.g. supplier quality, production efficiency and distribution issues

 

• Develop Packaging, Design and Artwork Mock Ups as and when required and support the team with bringing new briefs to life

 

• Benchmark packaging regularly to gain awareness of the market awareness and consider opportunities for development

Ideal candidate

 

• Passionate about packaging with good technical knowledge, with experience in the industry through work experience or a placement year

 

 

• Excellent internal and external stakeholder management
