The Plant Technical Manager is responsible for all aspects of the capital expenditure plan from conception to completion and for providing leadership and technical support for all aspects of engineering and the maintenance of plant, equipment, land and buildings across the site.  The successful candidate will:

• Contribute to the achievement of site budgets
• Maintain a culture of continuous improvement across the site and particularly in the engineering functions
• Ensure the delivery of safe working practices
• Promote the culture of excellence in Customer Service
• Identify and support employee growth and development amongst his/her direct reports

To achieve these objectives the Plant Technical Manager will interact closely with all cross functional teams and support the development and execution of the site strategy and champion the culture that is congruent with the values of General Mills.

The candidate:

The successful candidate must possess a degree, or equivalent, in an Engineering discipline. Their experience will include a minimum of 5 years in Food Engineering Development and two years in a Management or Leadership role in a manufacturing environment. You will also have a minimum of five years experience in Maintenance and Capital Projects in excess of £1 million. Capable of multi tasking and prioritising you work load, you will be used to working on several unrelated projects at the same time.
