NSF International (formerly NSF-CMi) Technical Services, Dunstable, provides Supply Chain technical support to a number of clients in the Food Service Sector and a vacancy has arisen for a FOOD TECHNOLOGIST ideally with a background in poultry, meat or fish products. The role of the Food Technologist is to ensure that suppliers operate in accordance with all relevant EU and UK legislation, industry standards, client requirements and documented best practice and deliver foods which are safe, legal and consistent.


The Role

The Food Technologist will approve, audit and manage bespoke suppliers of on behalf of our clients and will support the development and launch of new products.

The successful candidate will liaise with external colleagues and suppliers to support the menu development process and ensure that new products are manufactured in accordance with the client’s requirements.

The role also involves the evaluation, audit and review of product specification, allergen and nutritional data and the monitoring of supplier performance against specified performance indicators.

The role will involve extensive travel in the UK and a number of regular overseas trips.

 It is essential that the candidate has knowledge and understanding of current and upcoming legislation.


Key Skills

You will have a degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related subject and at least three years’ experience of working in manufacturing or food service with knowledge of a range of product technologies.

Experience in HACCP and auditing experience  is essential and a Lead Auditor qualification desirable.

The role requires accuracy, flexibility and the ability to work under pressure to deadlines and will suit an individual with a confident personality, a logical approach to problem solving, a high level of technical competence and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

The role involves using web based specification and audit systems.
