Development Technologist and Co-ordinator 

The Company

We are currently recruiting for a Technical and Development Co-ordinator / Development Technologist to work within our fast moving, dynamic and growing business. We manufacture high volume carbonated and still soft drinks, principally to the UK market. 

Cawingredients operates from a state of the art production facility based on one site in North Yorkshire.

We are seeking to expand our core team, with the right recruit being an important part of a highly focussed environment, where attention to detail and a high service to the company’s customers and partners are imperative.

This varied role within the ‘NPD’ department is focused on dealing with new products and rebrands from concept through to launch. The ability to manage a range of complex tasks through cross functional interaction is critical to success within the role. Strong interpersonal skills are essential as the role will involve dealing with suppliers and customers in addition to internal purchasing and production teams. The role would suit an individual with a technical / quality background who is looking for a move in to ‘NPD’. This role offers a challenging, ever changing environment with scope for personal development.

Role Description:

Work with the Product Development Director and customers on product briefs.

Liaise with customers and suppliers as required during the co-ordination of all new and redevelopment projects, including packaging development.

Review supplier approval and obtain / verify raw material specifications.

Co-ordinate production trials and first production runs.

Write finished product specifications and pack copies as required.

Involvement / coordination in the packaging approval process.

Active member of the HACCP team.

Manage production documentation / attribute sheets for all projects.

Control packaging material information to ensure compliance with legislation.


  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a technical / quality or NPD role
  • A food science based degree (or equivalent)
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • Good computer literacy as you will be accurately updating and maintaining documents and systems
  • HACCP qualification
  • Experience of dealing with retailers and / or brands
