Our client is a prominent UK food manufacturing company which supplies high quality products into a number of major retailers. This business has maintained its reputation through product quality, integrity and the highest levels of service.

The successful candidate will supervise and manage the quality function on a daily basis in order to achieve compliance with legislation and agreed customer requirements. This will involve implementation site systems at factory level to drive continuous improvement and ensure site quality systems are maintained and adhered to complying with customer standards.


Key Responsibilities

To manage the day to day activities of the quality function of the business.

To work to and maintain all aspects of the Quality System as set by the Technical Manager and customer requirements.

To continuously improve standards, monitoring hygiene, quality and food safety on a daily basis.

To oversee quality of all products produced within the business.

To carry out full investigations/ root cause analysis into complaints and customer technical issues as requested by the Technical Manager.

To record and manage daily incidents and strive to improve occurrence by correct implementation of HACCP, GMP and hygiene.

To supervise and develop the performance of the QA Technologist.

To maintain expert knowledge of all products and ensure all raw materials used in those products comply with the requirements of the QAS.

To conduct and monitor GMP in the factory and ensure corrective action is taken where necessary.


Personal Profile

Must have a good level of English literacy and numeracy. Attention to detail is essential and a conscientious nature to ensure all tasks are completed.

Must have experience of managing QMS to current BRC standard.

Relevant experience in a similar environment with good working knowledge of food manufacturing operating procedures.

Internal Auditing experience and knowledge.

General process and product knowledge

Knowledge of key legislation relating to the food industry.

Organised and able to work to tight deadlines.

Understanding of the company goals and structure – adaptability to work in a changing environment.
