Maintenance & Engineering Team Leaders, Lockerbie

At Arla, we do so much more than make some of the world's favourite dairy products. We make healthy taste delicious, mornings worth getting up for and family dinners unforgettable. Cravendale®, Anchor®, Tickler®, and Lurpak® - names like these, make us a vital, natural part of everyday life in over 100 countries around the world. At the heart of our business are 19,000 global employees and every single one of us plays an important role. Together we build on our €10bn turnover and continue to grow our position as one of the largest dairy companies in the world.

Challenging and rewarding opportunities:

Due to a recent restructure we have 4 openings for Team Leaders to join the Engineering team at the Lockerbie site, which is one of the largest processors of milk in the UK converting over 500M litres of milk per annum into high quality fresh milk, cheese, butter and whey products. The site is currently going through a period of change/improvement and as such we are looking for high calibre candidates to help drive the site's performance through this exciting period.

In this key position, you will lead and manage a team of multi-skilled Engineering Technicians, ensuring they have the skills to deliver in their job and receive the necessary training and feedback to achieve. The role will operate across a shift pattern, which covers days/nights/weekend working as appropriate. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will assist in implementing department strategy through the delivery of daily, weekly and monthly KPIs.

As part of a site-wide drive towards manufacturing excellence, you will play a key role in ensuring asset optimisation and improvement via appropriate methodology such as route cause analysis and TPM. You must be willing to challenge the status quo and an established team to drive world class performance in line with Arla's wider strategy.

You will form close working relationships with Team Leaders and Managers in other departments such as Production and Process to ensure engineering targets are achieved whilst minimising disruption to production schedules in a 24/7 operation.

Ability to make critical decisions and motivate, lead and develop:

You will have a proven track record as an Engineering Manager/Supervisor/Team Leader in a fast moving manufacturing environment. Dairy experience is not essential, but appreciation and understanding of automated, 24/7 processes would be advantageous. You will have a strong knowledge of Lean tools and techniques, with the ability to use them to drive improvements on site. Working with an established team, you will have outstanding communication skills with the ability to engage, motivate and inspire at all levels of the organisation.

In return you can expect a competitive salary and benefits package and the opportunity to work with a market leading company that encourages internal promotion.

Please apply as soon as possible as due to the number of roles applications will be processed on-going as they are received. We look forward to hearing from you.
