Under minimal supervision and with the highest attention to detail, this role has principal responsibility for ensuring that the site’s technical systems meet (and exceed, where applicable) the requirements of each respective customer, as well as ensuring compliance with all legislative and industry guidelines and regulations.
This will be achieved by managing key interactions with customers and outside agencies / suppliers – particularly with respect to the effective receipt, logging, investigation, reporting and trending of incoming customer complaints, defect reports and technical alerts or enquiries.
This role will also support and proactively drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department and provides a regular touch point with the customer and so a professional, efficient and courteous demeanour is essential.
An in-depth knowledge of customer codes of practice and ways of working will need to be in place or rapidly developed. Many of the specification and information systems are computer based (online portals) therefore strong IT skills will be essential, as will the experience necessary to practically apply these standards in a dynamic factory environment.
The role requires a keen eye for detail and carries great responsibility as correct interpretation and application of key customer requirements is a pivotal part of the role. Maintenance and management of appropriately detailed GAP analyses supported by comprehensive remedial plans will be key, as will taking a leading role in the scheduling and practical management of successful 3rd party audits, as and when they occur.
This role requires inspired team working and robust technical knowledge and applied practices to give the company a competitive technical advantage over its competitors.
The right candidate for the position will ideally hold a food related degree or equivalent coupled with a proven track record working in Food Manufacturing within a Technical/Quality focused role. Exposure to working with any of the Major Retailers would be desirable but is not essential.
