Our client, based in the South East,  is one of the success stories within its industry. They started small and through the years have built themselves into the “go to” company in their sector. They have a formidable reputation and a passion for their products which is hard to match. They have some very ambitious growth plans and are looking for an experienced Sales Director to help them achieve this. The nature of their business is very varied. Therefore, they need to find someone who is able to deal with large and smaller customers, whilst managing a very large sales team as well. Experience of 4-5 NAM reports is not going to cut it unfortunately.

The Role:-

Day-to-day responsibility for the sales and business development function across a very large number and range of customers and selling a massive range of products.

To drive sales and profitable growth with both existing AND new clients. 

To provide clear frontline leadership to a very talented and highly motivated Sales team and to be actively involved in the account management of each of their major clients. 

To support the Managing Director and the rest of the board in the overall management and company strategy. 

To be based at their head office in the South East.   

The right person MUST have:-  

Drive, Charisma, Energy and dynamism and be ambitious for themselves, the company AND their team and colleagues throughout the company. 

Fabulous sales skills and first class commercial acumen. 

Excellent people management skills, having managed a large sales team either recently or at some point in your career and significant “traditional” sales management experience.

An impressive track record to date in a demanding sales or commercial director and leadership role within the fresh food sector and experience of dealing with a range of demanding customers.

Real experience of managing successful relationships at all levels with large national organisations and strong financial management understanding.

A natural “trading” ability and high entrepreneurial capability.  

A “Can-Do” attitude with a down to earth, pragmatic management style with professional “corporate” experience  and although a strategic thinker, you must be prepared to roll your sleeves up and be hands on as and when required.
