Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Baking and Confectionery Technology
The School of Applied Sciences is seeking to attract talented and ambitious academics to teach and pursue scholarly / enterprise work in Baking Technology. The School has three academic divisions:
Division of Food Sciences
Division of Human Sciences
Division of Psychology
The World renowned National Bakery School sits within the Division of Food Sciences. This is a dynamic and influential School with an international reputation for industry-informed courses. The National Bakery School has recently undergone a major refurbishment and is well equipped to deal with the ever changing needs of the industry. Our students are well placed to benefit from both our fantastic sophisticated facilities and our extensive industrial networks.
The post-holder will be an academic staff member contributing to both the academic portfolio and the growing enterprise / research and CPD opportunities that The National Bakery School offers.
The National Bakery School has particular teaching needs at present in the practical application and scientific underpinning of Baking / Confectionery Technology. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong enterprise profile in the Baking / Confectionery Industry.
The successful candidates will undertake world leading / internationally excellent enterprise / research in the National Bakery School independently and in collaboration with other staff members. The successful candidate will identify opportunities and apply for external income and grants to support the work. The person will also carry out teaching, administrative duties and any other duties as required by the Dean of the School / the Head of Division of Food Sciences.
