Warehouse Shift Manager, Edmonton
Permanent (Shift work)
What you become a part of
Edmonton Distribution Centre is a 24/7 operation at the heart of CCEP’s Supply Chain network for Great Britain. Our Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) warehouse holds 24,000 pallets, with a typical annual throughput of 1 million pallets. Every 24 hours we expect to receive around 2,000 pallets from the manufacturing operation, directly into the ASRS, as well as 32 inbound vehicles from our other factory sites, with palletised goods which must be put away promptly and safely into the ASRS and accurately recorded in our SAP and WCS stock management systems. At the same time, we will be assembling orders of full pallets for despatch to our customers on a further 160 outbound vehicles.
Just 40 employees deliver this fast-paced and high-volume activity, so teamwork is essential. As an operational Shift Manager, you will report to the Warehouse Manager and have the wider support of professional experts in HR, Learning & Development, Quality Environment Safety & Health, Finance and Stock Control.
Distribution is the final link in CCEP’s streamlined Supply Chain, where the prospect of excellent customer service is a daily reality. If you thrive on opportunities to make a difference and you want to challenge yourself professionally and personally, our inspiring leadership and supportive team will really bring out the best in you.
What to expect
Working closely with your team of 8-10 direct reports, supplemented by agency labour, you will ensure all objectives are achieved. Our Key Business Indicators include:
Safety: Frequency & Cost of First Aid Injuries and Property Damage Incidents
Customer Service: Casefill (% cases delivered to customers)
Costs: Direct Labour Cost per Pallet
These indicators are supported by a suite of measures which you will use to monitor your team’s performance throughout the shift, making tactical decisions to optimise service levels without overspending our budget.
Shift Managers undertake project work individually and in small teams, to drive continuous improvement of our management of people (e.g. CRS initiatives), labour costs (e.g. productivity modelling), asset management (e.g. fork-lift truck maintenance) and quality (e.g. operational process improvement).
Edmonton Distribution Centre is an engaging environment where you will receive recognition for the way you develop and manage your team to achieve for both themselves and the site.
What we expect of you
The successful candidate will have experience of managing operational teams in a FMCG environment, prioritising safety and customer service. Your team will include at least one maintenance engineer, so engineering experience would be valuable too, although not essential. Key to this role are strong organisational and communication skills and the ability to perform under pressure within a fast paced environment. It is essential that you are able to make sound, timely decisions, without losing sight of the bigger picture and our long term objectives.
Alongside the members of your team, you will work a rotating shift pattern of 12-hour days (6am to 6pm) and 12-hour nights (6pm to 6am). Team Leaders are expected to offer some flexibility within their working time, for example to accommodate team meetings, but the underlying pattern is 4 on; 4 off.
All CCEP roles offer the salary, flexible benefits, great career and development opportunities you'd expect from a global market leader.
If this role is of interest to you please upload a recent copy of your CV and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will be in touch.
We believe that equal opportunities means inclusion, diversity and fair treatment for all.
