Customer Logistics Coordinator

Main purpose of the role:   

Main areas include sales order management in accordance with HMC&E legislative compliance; managing sales orders from receipt through to delivery; reviewing demand versus inventory levels and the short-medium term production programme; liaising with partners/agents/hauliers to arrange transportation whilst optimising cost to deliver a high service level to our Customers.  Adherence to HMC&E regulation is a key function of the role due to movement of goods in duty suspension.  Communication of data and key performance indicators is also a requirement of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  1. A first point of contact for our customer(s), relating to sales orders/stock replenishment and data communication; including resolution of all customer enquiries associated with firm demand.  
  2. Manage ‘sales orders at risk’ to maximise ‘Order Fulfilment’ KPI’s by proactively monitoring influencing factors
  3. Liaising with partners, shipping agents and hauliers, preparing and issuing the required documentation in accordance with HMC&E using in house and HMC&E systems. Creating the required C&E certification as required.
  4. Ensure company process, and government & legislative compliance for all movement of goods, to both customer destination and transfers between partner warehouse locations
  5. Working closely with Planners and Warehouse personnel to collectively prepare and create an effective and efficient weekly despatch load plan.
  6. Provide all relevant and requested certification in relation to product/market registration on behalf of the Customer
  7. Develop relationships with key customers providing and delivering professional, helpful and high quality service and assistance to the customer before, during and after the customers’ requirements are met.  
  8. Customer Complaints receipt/response/documentation/recording to be facilitated in accordance with company procedures
  9. Ensure administration required within your direct responsibilities is completed efficiently with continuous review of possibilities for improvement 
  10. For European deliveries, manage the ‘issue’ and ‘transfer’ of rental pallets for the business between customers and partner warehouses as applicable for customer sector
  11. Facilitate Purchase Orders as required to facilitate the movement of goods (example: transport/stock purchase)
  12. Take on additional duties as and when required, within sphere of expertise, to support the business objective to provide exemplary service to customers and colleagues

Key Skills/Experience for the role

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent 
  • Experience in a similar distribution role
  • Logistics experience in domestic and/or international distribution is a requirement
  • Exemplary communication skills – verbal and written 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Demonstrates a 'can do approach’ with a proactive and flexible attitude to work
