This leading food manufacturing company works across exciting food categories and supplies major UK retailers. They have an excellent opportunity for a confident and talented Senior New Product Development Technologist looking to join a dynamic team and progress their career with a fast paced chilled food business.

The Role

Reporting to the NPD Manager you’ll work as part of a large team in the development of new and existing products from concept approval stage through to launch. You’ll liaise with Development Chefs, playing an important role in the development of new product ideas as well as adapting existing ranges to keep up with the latest food trends. Planning and organising production trials you’ll work closely with technical and production teams to guarantee all quality and technical standards are achieved in line with customer briefs, costs and launch timetables. You’ll also be accountable for producing and managing product specifications whilst organising samples for customer approval and benchmarking activities. In addition you’ll be reviewing and assessing the current factory processes where you’ll continuously challenge the site’s capabilities and implement changes to drive innovation and maximise productivity.

The Person

We are looking for a proactive and motivated Technologist with a Food Science or Technology qualification and previous experience of working in a similar NPD position within the food manufacturing industry. Up to date with the latest food trends you’ll also have a creative flair for flavours and a good commercial eye for knowing what will get consumer taste buds tingling. You’ll have an analytical and practical approach to tasks coupled with the desire to achieve results and drive continuous improvements. You must also have great attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage simultaneous projects as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ideally, you will have worked with the major multiples and understand their systems, processes and standards.
