PRODUCT TECHNOLOGIST (Permanent - Full-Time Position)

The Role

This is a fabulous opportunity for a Product Technologist who can help drive our future success. You will provide technical support to the business, suppliers and customers on all matters relating to the safety, legality and quality of the products purchased and sold. You will have responsibility for ensuring accurate documentation and record keeping of technical information. Therefore, you’ll need a good eye for detail.

What you’ll be doing

In the role of Product Technologist, you’ll be providing timely provision of technical information both internally and externally. You’ll challenge and implement quality management systems to drive continuous improvement within the business whilst ensuring everything complies with food safety quality standards. You will support and assist the Head of Technical in managing any quality and technical issues. You’ll be required to travel to factories in Europe, UK and worldwide to complete factory audits and other Technical matters so being flexible would be an advantage.

The Person

We are looking for an outstanding foodie with a Food Science / Technology or Nutrition qualification, and a flair for technical innovation coupled with previous experience of working within the food retail or manufacturing industry.

You'll need an exceptional working knowledge of technical and quality standards and product development as well as an analytical approach to improving products and processes. Outstanding communication, influencing and relationship building skills are essential as you’ll be liaising with internal teams as well as suppliers on a regular basis.

You must also have first rate project management skills and be able to work as part of project teams as well as on your own initiative.
