Laboratory and Quality Control Manager

The Laboratory and Quality Control Manager will be responsible to the site Quality Manager for chemical and analytical testing of raw materials, in-process and finish good samples as well providing the proficiency tests and physical inspection of finish good as required.

As well as managing all the activities of the analytical laboratory from the person will be expected to drive improvements to the processes and create an environment of continuous improvement. You will be representing the Laboratory to the wider business which will give you the opportunity to work with other departments and stakeholders within and beyond the Organization and Laboratory.


  • Managing  team 
  • Ensuring the effective operation of the laboratory to budget
  • Effective and accurate internal reporting of Laboratory findings
  • Monitor equipment performance and arrange appropriate repair, service and calibration
  • Investigate atypical results and quality system failures and action accordingly
  • The upkeep of the Company Analytical /and Microbiological Methods Manual
  • Development and maintenance of all laboratory sampling to meet customer and legal specifications
  • Product and raw material release control
  • Liaising with external laboratories for external testing
  • Ensuring the integrity of the laboratories work and appropriate confidentially of any findings or results.
  • Auditing materials provided by suppliers to assure quality before incorporation into the product
  • Providing training and support as required for the staff
  • Ensure that appropriate inspection and test plans are in place

This person should provide following skills and experiences: 

  • Very good general communication and persuasiveness skills; team working
  • Independent verification without compromise on Quality Assurance requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a focus on delivery the goals on time  
  • Have substantial practical experience in food or familiar industry 3- 5 years as laboratory manager/and quality control
  • Good knowledge of SAP, 
  • Experiences with Good Laboratory Practice and BRC
  • English skills for fluent verbal and written communication
