We are looking for someone to join the engineering team as Interim Engineering Manager at Bury St Edmunds who has the ability, skills and knowledge to lead and manage the engineering function across the site. The successful candidate will ensure delivery of all KPI’s through effective implementation of an appropriate strategy and deployment of skills as well as be able to coach the engineering team.

The successful applicant will be able to provide leadership for the team by maintaining discipline, monitoring performance and providing both the engineering and site management team with accurate feedback and updates on the department’s performance. You will also ensure all statutory and site requirements regarding health, safety and the environment are met as well as of course ensuring compliance with all engineering/building regulations by adopting a best practice approach. The successful candidate will be pivotal in driving the team to continuously make improvements in these areas, encouraging a culture that only accepts good quality, safety and environmental principles.

Continuing to develop and deliver a strategy for the engineering function at Bury St Edmunds by setting and applying the engineering standards required to support the manufacturing operations, the successful candidate will be able to achieve this in a timely and cost effective manner whilst applying lean thinking techniques across all areas.  You will also seek out, assess and where applicable, implement new innovations and technologies’ by building business relations with internal and external customers and encouraging staff to see the competitive advantage of excellent customer service.

About You:

The successful candidate will have proven engineering management skills and experience of managing teams. Excellent engineering skills and qualifications, or equivalent, are a must as are strong communication and organisational skills and the ability to positively influence others.
