Based: South West/M4/M5

My client is a successful and growing UK division of a European chilled foods group supplying a wide range of European origin branded and own-label products into Grocery Retail, Wholesale and Foodservice trade channels. Entrepreneurial by nature, the company has a strong people culture where individuals are highly valued and are offered real autonomy, empowerment and responsibility in their job roles.

The company has ambitious growth plans for their UK business and are now looking to appoint a talented Supply Chain Controller to take on full P&L responsibility and ownership for the management of all key supply chain activities and to become the “supply chain champion” within the business. Your remit will be wide and varied and will include all inbound logistics from European manufacturing sites, sourcing and selection of haulier partners and annual contract negotiation, defining the warehouse requirements and relationship to ensure the highest level of fulfilment to customer orders and to manage, coach and develop a logistics and customer services team of c.10 people.

The ideal candidate will have previous FMCG Supply Chain experience gained either in a recognised food manufacturing company or alternatively in a food distribution, warehousing or logistics business. You may currently be a successful Supply Chain Manager looking for the next step up in your career or alternatively you may already be operating at Controller level but seeking a new challenge. Either way, we would like to hear from you.

To be successful you will need to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of replenishment and order processing principles, have an appreciation and understanding of operating to BRC and other key food industry safety standards such as HACCP, VACCP and TACCP. More importantly the job requires a highly motivated, self-starter with strong communication, negotiation and people management skills and an ability to work as part of a diverse, close-knit team in a flexible, fast-paced environment. You will be naturally highly organised, process focused, able to multi-task and with strong attention to detail.

The position is based at the company’s head office in an attractive part of the Cotswolds with easy access to M4 and M5 motorways. The role will require regular travel throughout the Southern UK and some occasional European travel. In return the company offers an attractive salary package, car or car allowance and the usual benefits.
