Technical Manager – Food Manufacturing

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 basis salary plus excellent benefits package including bonus scheme, pension, family private health cover
Location: UK wide – full relocation package paid for candidates to relocate to the North West

Are you a Site Technical Manager with experience dealing with retail customers? Are you looking to join a leader in the market with excellent opportunities for progression?

My client are a dynamic and varied business, operating across a variety of SKU’s encompassing private label and an impressive portfolio of well-known brand names across food and beverage.  

This is a varied and interesting role, as you will be the single technical point of contact for Customer Technical Managers and Technologists. The main focus of the role is to effectively manage and deliver the strategic technical agenda for the customer and the business. The role encompasses the following responsibilities:

Role responsibilities:

  • Develop strong and pro-active relationships with customer contacts
  • Conduct technical reviews with customer contacts, and provide updates on projects and specific improvement activities
  • Drive improvement plans to ensure that KPI targets are delivered
  • Support site Technical Managers in the implementation of retailer Policies and Codes of Practice
  • Support manufacturing sites ahead of customer audits and visits to ensure compliance
  • Plan. Arrange and participate in customer visits, ensuring any action points or issues are addressed and followed up
  • Manage quality and health and safety issues on behalf of customers

Successful candidates:

  • You will have a strong FMCG background with experience as a Technical Manager, or you could be a strong Quality Manager/Tech Services Manager looking to make the next step up into a Technical Management role
  • Must have customer facing retail experience
  • Technical expertise within a wide range of food manufacturing operations
  • Experienced in balancing the requirements of multiple customers
  • Level 3-4 HACCP and lead auditor qualifications preferred
  • Knowledge of retailer codes of practice
