Head of Technical - FTC (12 month)
Based in the Midlands, our client manufactures premier ambient and chilled convenience foods for high profile customers, the Retailers and several foodservice customers. This delicious manufacturer has crept into a well-established market position through enticing the masses with their gloriously sought-after products. With ambitious plans to grow this organisation now seeks a star individual to take the reigns as Head of Technical on a 1 year fixed term contract.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will solely head up the technical function across multiple sites. Managing a skilled technical team as well as maintain and develop key relationships with the multiple retailers. Outstanding levels of customer satisfaction and driving the business, through the technical function will be your primary goal. You will be responsible for ensuring technical standards to the highest level. You will manage a skilled senior technical team and be expected to lead by example with a hands on approach. BRC, HACCP, internal & external audits will be part of your remit. As the heart of the Technical function you will also manage teams across process development and quality systems.
Degree educated in a food related discipline, you will have current experience in a Senior Technical position within a food manufacturing environment. Strong experience with BRC and a minimum of Level 4 HACCP is fundamental to succeed. Exposure to the multiple retailers or other equally high profile customers is a pre-requisite. Solid leadership and organisational skills and the ability to influence at a senior level will all be key. Candidates from an ambient or chilled background may be favoured but all applicants from a different background will be considered.
