Head of Quality, South East
Are you an experienced Senior Quality Manager with a food packaging / BRC background? Exciting group role based out of the site in the South East!
This well respected, multi-sited packaging manufacturing business is best known for its dedication to staying at the forefront of innovation in the industry as well as for its continuous commitment to recycling and sustainability.
Currently recruiting for a Head of Quality, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Quality Management across all UK sites. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be tasked to drive a strategy of assured quality and system compliance in order to reach industry leading 'right first time' and minimise complaints.
With accountability for Quality across all of the company's UK sites, this is a role with complete autonomy where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference!
The business predominantly supplies the food and drink industry, and as the BRC business contact you will ensure that it is fully compliant and that all quality related systems, processes and procedures are fit for purpose. You will inform the Board of Directors of any non-conformance together with advising on and delivery of appropriate action.
By delivering strategic leadership and vision to the Quality department, you will move the business to a culture of Quality Assurance from one of Quality Control, leading and motivating the team (three direct reports, 4/5 dotted line).
- Completing a review of the company audit process and developing a compliance map of the business
- Prepare Key Performance Indicators for all customers
- Product development and material trials across the business
- Proactively identify and assess risk towards quality; reviewing, refining and implementing new quality procedures
- Operate in a matrix organisational structure identifying key trends, issues and any critical aspects requiring attention
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must have a proven background in BRC Food Packaging, have HACCP training Level 3 and Lead Auditor 9001 experience. You will also have good influencing skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Travel between sites is essential; you must therefore be flexible in occasionally staying away from home. Root cause analysis and Food Safety Level 4 are desirable but not essential.
