We are working with a leading food manufacturing company who works across exciting food categories and supplies major UK retailers with innovative chilled products. They are seeking a switched on Specifications Technologist to join their dedicated team and help them retain their reputation for high quality products.
In this key technical role you’ll report to the Technical Manager, support the NPD, Process & Quality functions and be responsible for:
- Writing, processing and approving product specifications, ensuring that all products are in line with company and customer values and standards.
- Managing day to day technical tasks from monitoring systems and HACCP controls to updating non-conformance logs and handling customer complaints.
- Liaising regularly with suppliers, customers and internal teams, undertaking risk assessments and taking responsibility for sign-off of all stages of product lifecycles.
- Assisting with management of the critical path, collating data from factory trials and ensuring all information is accurate and up to date to guarantee successful product launches.
Suit a Food science graduate or related qualification who has previously worked in a similar chilled food manufacturing role and gained proven experience of managing specifications for the major retailers. You’ll need to have a working knowledge of retail online specification systems and as well as a good understanding of the technical processes of product development. Methodical and analytical in your approach you’ll need to have good organisation and project management skills alongside a keen eye for detail as you will be working to tight deadlines. You will also have great communication skills as you will be in frequent liaison with internal and external colleagues as well as high profile customers.
