This job is working for a well-established family business with a reputation for quality and service supplying the major multiples with high quality products.
Your role as Technical Assistant is to be responsible for all food safety, technical, and health and safety matters pertaining to all operations within the company and its associated sites.
You will manage, review and update the quality management system, assist in meeting customer needs, ensure the business operates within legal constraints, ensure maintenance of technical standards, maintain an awareness of current and future legislation changes, effectively manage customer complaints, liaise with local and central government agencies, maintain and ensure compliance to third party accreditations plus own and manage the company HACCP & allergen management systems.
This role offers excellent scope for quick progression within the business into a technical supervisory / management role for an individual with a passion to progress their career.
You will have good experience in a similar technical / quality role within food manufacturing, most ideally chilled, high risk products. You will have good working knowledge of customer specifications, BRC standards, HACCP, QMS and food safety and previous team leading or supervisory experience is an advantage. You will have a strong focus on needs of the customer, together with a high level of attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
The Technical Assistant job is based in the West Midlands region and is paying c. £22,000 according to individual skills and previous experience. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 6.30am, however flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the business.
