You have the chance to join a well-established engineering department of a growing FMCG company. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be working closely with the Maintenance Manager as they continue to invest in new equipment & new people.

As the Maintenance Engineer you will be working an established, multi-skilled engineering team on electro mechanical equipment in order to provide a first class service to the customer in terms of fault resolution and asset uptime.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding
  • Maintain effective communication with all relevant departments regarding progress on repairs and Maintenance requests
  • Ensure all departments are kept informed when maintenance tasks are taking place in their departments
  • Liaise with operations team to ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to
  • Ensure all items of plant operate efficiently and safely through proactive and reactive maintenance
  • Provide support and engineering expertise to the site operation through implementation of proactive planned preventative maintenance
  • Accountable for the performance and availability of your working areas, utilising reporting facilities to proactively identify and correct repetitive issues
  • Provide a flexible approach and service to the operation to ensure that the sites targets are achieved
  • Carry out all engineering disciplines using best Health and Safety and engineering practices
  • Identify opportunities of improvement that will benefit the system function in terms of performance, hygiene, safety, efficiency and provide a cost benefit
  • Identify key learns from tasks undertaken that will improve on breakdown recovery, efficiency and implement the necessary process to ensure minimum downtime
  • Provide the required shift cover as requested to ensure the sites performance is not jeopardised and enable planned outage output being maximised through efficient deployment
  • When down time occurs, utilise the opportunity to carry out other maintenance and hygiene tasks within the same time period
  • All plant is maintained in accordance with the approved maintenance schedules and training provided
  • Ensure all engineering targets are achieved and when not clear mitigation as to why is documented

Shift Pattern: 3 on 3 off, Days and Nights


A Maintenance Engineer with multi-skilled experience but ideally with a mechanical bias. The successful applicant will have:
  • Formally recognised engineering qualifications/training (ideally ONC and above)
  • Extensive fault finding experience in a fast moving / FMCG environment (other sectors will be considered)
  • An understanding of Continuous Improvement techniques
  • The ability to work independently and make informed, firm decisions
  • Thea ability to work under pressure

Job Offer

Circa £30,000 - £34,000 + Benefits
