A new and revised campaign to recruit a pivotal role as part of the Site Management Team to make an impact as Production Manager working at our Stilton manufacturing site in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. With approximately 100 employees, this is a smaller influential site, being one of longest-standing Stilton manufacturer in the world; a heritage that we are rightly proud of. Production covers 3 High Care package lines and a Low risk packing function. The successful candidate will work on day shifts Monday - Friday, reporting into the Site Director and be responsible for building strong relationships to ultimately achieve production KPI's, CI initiatives and support the focus on Food Safety and H&S standards across the operation.
You will lead, coach and develop your team based on Arla's leadership behaviours and people processes, ultimately challenging the status quo in order to improve overall performance via continuous improvement. You will lead the direction for the department and connect the overall Arla business group's/site's vision, mission, strategy and values to local plans for the department. You will ensure that the department complies with Arla Foods' standards, policies as well as applicable law and Health and Safety procedures and mind set and optimise processes and practices. You will work together with and ensure the required assistance from support functions, i.e. Maintenance, QEHS, Planning, PTD and Finance.
You will have a strong managerial background and the drive and motivation to take a high performing site and department to the next level. You will have a proven track record in Production Management within an FMCG or Food Manufacturing environment. As one of the thirteen global Speciality Cheese sites you will be responsible for a team of circa 25 and ideally have operated within highly automated processes, delivering improvements via people and technology. You must be able to demonstrate outstanding communication, decision making and influencing skills.
A cross functional mind-set is required in order to understand the requirements and pressures of other departments. You must also be able to demonstrate knowledge and application of continuous improvement / lean tools and techniques.
