This is a great opportunity to join a well-established but ever-growing food company who are renowned for pushing boundaries with their innovative product ranges. Market leaders with their on trend food & drink offerings, they are now looking for an experienced and accomplished regional Technical Manager to ensure the continuous supply of safe and high calibre products.

The Role

In this pivotal technical management role you’ll be driving product quality through the strategic management of the supplier base. Your key responsibilities will include:

· Leading and developing the supplier management strategy, monitoring performance and auditing data to ensure consistency and efficiency across the board.

· Respond to any issues or incidents regarding the quality, safety and legality of product ranges, acting as the brand guardian and reviewing critical control points to guarantee a consistently high standard for your customers.

· Developing influential relationships and engaging with your broad supply base, co-ordinating regular visits in order to deliver the best results for your customers.

· Using your influence as a member of the regional leadership team to create and deliver improvement plans, aligning quality and technical requirements with business goals whilst assuring consumer confidence.  

The Person

We are looking for a confident Quality/ Technical enthusiast with a food science or related degree who has worked with a wide supply base and gained extensive auditing experience. Ideally you will have worked with a range of food manufacturing sites and have an insight into the snack and bakery sectors. You’ll also have experience of HACCP and BRC standards with a successful track record of achieving excellence. A high level of computer literacy and a robust understanding of quality systems is essential along with the ability to work effectively within a team as well as using your own initiative. In addition you’ll need to have excellent attention to detail and will be well practiced in organising, influencing and motivating a team to achieve success.

Please note that suppliers are located both in the UK and Europe, so flexibility for travel will also be a requirement for this role.
