The job

As Procurement Category Manager, you will be part of a talented team which manages suppliers within a category management based framework. The company is a fast paced, growing and principal based business that requires experts to support the corporate strategy through delivering operational excellence, innovation, sustainable best cost pricing and proactive risk management.

You will manage, from a procurement perspective, any NPD development with new and existing suppliers, be the main contact between internal contacts and supplier, getting the best possible cost for the business, budget and manage current cost prices and deliver margin improvements, inquire, write & negotiate contracts for the range of products with existing suppliers and work towards continuous improvement within the procurement function by researching and proposing new ways of working.

Your experience

You will possess a solid procurement/purchasing track record within the FMCG industry, most preferably food manufacturing. You will have direct procurement experiencer, proven supplier relationship management skills, knowledge of cost control and improvement together with project management experience and working with complex supply chains. You will also ideally be CIPS qualified or currently training towards.

More details

The Procurement Category Manager job is based in the South Coast / South West UK region and is paying £34,000 pro rata (approximately £20,400 per annum). This is a part time position working Wednesday to Friday, however this can be flexible to suit the post-holder. This is also a 1 year maternity cover contract commencing in November 2017.
