You will be working for a leading and well-established family business which grows fresh produce for the retail market. They are very proud to supply a range of customers from local wholesalers and markets to major retailers.
As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the safety, quality and legality of produce across the business. You will be responsible for the management of the site QA team and actively contribute to the technical development of the business as part of the management team ensuring that all customer and internal communication is managed and provided in agreed timescales and to the correct standards.
You will also manage the maintenance and review of the site quality management system, organise internal site audits and product traceability and recall checks, manage the corrective actions and investigations for non-conformances and complaints, prepare and manage site audits including BRC and TPPS (with support), manage supplier approval & review raw material, packaging, contractors and agency suppliers, management of site HACCP, provide expert advice on all technical/food safety aspects of produce, ensure that all customer requirements for produce are met and provide ongoing personal development guidance for members of the site QA team.
You will be an extremely driven and passionate individual and hold a good track record of working in quality / technical roles within the food manufacturing industry, most preferably with fresh produce experience. You will also ideally have a background working in a production team and you will also be a holder of a food science / agronomical related degree or equivalent.
The Technical Manager job is based in South East Scotland and is paying c. £35,000 according to individual skills and previous experience.
