Our client is a leading Fresh Produce company specialising in a wide range of Fruit products. Supplying into many of the major multiple retailers this company has enjoyed a sustained period of growth over the last year and as a result are looking to expand their Technical and Growing team with the appointment of an Agronomist.

Working with the company growers this role will be responsible for promoting best practises within the group to ensure a smooth production of high quality products all year round.
A satellite role, this position will be focused around the midlands and will involve regular travel and site audits
.
Responsibilities in this role include:
*Management of the BASIS and FACTS accreditation schemes and procedures for all sites
*Regular seasonal visits to all group farms and partner growers for training and audit purposes
*To develop and maintain the company agronomy advisory service to ensure all growers have support and a clear understanding of group standards
*Performance and Production Benchmarking initiatives
*Crop Production Planning and Husbandry recommendations
*Pest and Disease Control recommendations
*Overseeing the collection and presentation of annual crop reports and presentations of this data
*Making suggestions on product breeding and offering recommendations on how to develop new product varieties

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
*At least five years history within an Agronomy role, ideally working with fruit crops
*BASIS and FACTS qualified
*Background in a customer and grower facing role
*Strong understanding UK crop Production
*Background in supplying into major multiple retailers
*Ability to relate to key client personnel in a professional and credible fashion
*Well-developed personal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of employees
*Good interpersonal skills and well developed leadership and management skills
*Strong organisation and time management skills
*Flexibility to travel throughout the UK
