This manufacturer is part of a national business and supplies products to both food service and other manufacturers throughout the UK. It has driven the development of this exciting niche market into a fast-growing new sector for the food industry.
As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the operational quality compliance of the production unit and QA team; ensuring products are manufactured safely and to the required company and customer agreed standards.
You will lead customer visit/audits with regard to the QMS, calibration, lab testing, complaints and non-conformances, manage the system of customer complaints, manage, guide and regularly assess QA technicians, ensure internal audits are completed to schedule, assess and deliver relevant training within the department, liaise with the external laboratory with regard to the results of analysis, manage and investigate all non-conformances, actively participate in HACCP and technical/quality review meetings, manage the Certificate of Analysis process and ensure that finished product is positively released in accordance with internal QMS procedures.
Ideally educated to a HND/degree level with a food science discipline, you will have a demonstrable quality / technical track record within a food manufacturing environment. You will have a hands-on approach, the ability to deal with customer complaints and good man-management skills together with excellent knowledge of QMS, HACCP, BRC (ideally v7), Red Tractor etc. A background of working in a high-risk environment such as meat or poultry is also highly desirable.
The Quality Manager job is based in the London region and is paying £35,000.
