This is a challenging and rewarding role working for a long-established manufacturer. Sticking to traditional manufacturing methods, the business strives to operate as environmentally responsible as possible to produce a wide range of organic and natural products.
Your role as Technical Manager will be to ensure that all food safety, quality, technical, legal and customer requirements are met in full and to manage a small team across the sites ensuring a sound structure is in place to deliver continuous improvement whilst maintaining third party certifications.
You will interpret requirements of BRC quality standard, coordinate all customer audits & visits and ensure actions raised are completed in a timely manner, ensure a comprehensive HACCP system is implemented, monitored and reviewed, monitor and ensure up to date procedures in respect of traceability, calibration, testing, production controls and other quality systems, identify any non-conformances through quality and hygiene audits ensuring corrective action is taken, maintain updated raw materials/packaging specifications, carry out audits of suppliers as required, maintain and update customer specifications, instruct all new employees on basic hygiene, safety and the importance quality procedures, coordinate outside contractors such as laundry, pest control, waste & chemical suppliers plus control the budget for the technical and hygiene departments.
To be considered for the Technical Manager job, you will have a solid experience within a QA or technical management role in food manufacturing, most ideally within bakery. You will have strong working knowledge of BRC standard V7, be experienced in BRC and customer audits and be HACCP qualified (Level 3). The ability to start the role promptly is highly desirable.
The Technical Manager job is based in the South Central / South West region and is paying c. £40,000 according to individual skills and previous experience. The working hours are Monday to Friday, however some flexibility including weekends may be required to meet the needs of the business.
