Supply Chain & Logistics Manager

Hayman Group is a long standing independent family company with a turnover of circa £34m. The business consists of two manufacturing divisions and circa 120 people covering the packing and distribution of alcohol to the pharmaceutical sector as well as bottling products such as Gin, Vodka and Whisky. The Hayman’s are also the only family of original English gin makers still distilling today. Across their businesses they work with small independents through to leading global organisations. Through their extensive experience and knowledge, they have gained a reputation as experts in their industry. This enables them to ensure they deliver a personal service of the highest quality to all of their customers. With continued significant growth and investment, we are now looking to recruit a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to join their senior team, based at their facility in Essex. 

Key responsibilities include:     

Reporting to the Director of Operations, this Supply Chain & Logistics Manager role is a key leadership position, leading all supply chain operations encompassing planning, supply chain, stock control, warehousing and logistics, across the site. You will be responsible for establishing, embedding and then leading a robust supply chain operation to support the growth plans of the business. 

Main responsibilities include:

  • Leadership and development of a small team.
  • Driving and embedding a fully functioning supply chain, identifying the necessary improvements in both people and processes to ensure robust, lean capability for a fast-growing business.
  • Defining the right metrics to ensure accurate reporting of supply chain activity and delivery to target.
  • Management of S&OP process, inventory, and control of warehouse and all inbound/outbound logistics.

The role will naturally align itself to an experienced and capable supply chain leader with a background in the FMCG sectors. You will have a background in creating and/or transforming a supply chain function and be a catalyst for change within the business. The role is designed to drive the supply chain function to a best practice operation, requiring an individual who can strike the correct balance between strategic and tactical requirements. Personal attributes will include:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability engage at all levels both internally and externally.
  • The gravitas and credibility to lead the function to a ‘Best in Class’ operation.
