My client, a well-known food processor within the Scottish industry is looking for a Customer facing Technical Manager who will operate as the key customer contact point for technical matters. 

Responsible for the safety, quality and legality of products across the site you will  actively contribute to the technical development as part of the Technical Management Team ensuring that all customer and internal communication is managed and provided in agreed timescales and to the correct standards. 
 Your main responsibilities for this position include but not limited to: 

STANDARDS
•To be the key liaison point for customer technical management
•Support of the Commercial team in managing customer accounts
•To provide expert advice on all technical/food safety aspects of products.
•To ensure that all products supplied by the site meets safety, quality, legal and customer requirements.
•To ensure quality systems, factory fabric/design and hygiene meet or exceed all relevant customer requirements, standards and codes of practice. 
•Working with all departments to ensure audit readiness at all times.
•To ensure that all third-party suppliers operate to the required standard for handling produce on behalf of the business
•Implement the site HACCP systems in line with industry best practice and customer requirements.
•To ensure that the site consistently meet all customer and third-party audit requirements.
•To ensure that third party suppliers consistently meet all customer and third-party audit requirements.
•Working with the Procurement/Field teams to effectively manage raw material quality.
•Manage and update customer technical libraries and systems as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will 
•Hold a formal qualification in food science related science.
•Have experience in food (preferably chilled)
•Previous experience in a customer facing role within the Technical function

This role is a Monday to Friday role with regular travel.
Salary is Flexible but is around the £38-42K according to experience
