Technical Services and Compliance Manager

Location: Kent
Salary: up to £50k + benefits

With a growing turnover and a great position in the market, my client in Kent is looking a Technical Services and Compliance Manager to join their business.

You will be based at company's site in Kent who produce chilled food for all major retailers around the country.

The Role:

  • Managing the internal audit and non-conformance system to ensure full compliance to schedule and timely close outs of non-conformities.
  • Timely update and implementation of new customer and third party requirements in internal systems
  • To manage the preparation and gap closure surrounding customer announced/ unannounced audits.
  • To ensure the timely and accurate closure of any non-conformances raised during customer audits
  • Delivering and maintaining external audit status
  • Coordination of technical information for internal and external KPIs and their distribution and monitoring
  • Provide direction and support to Auditors, managing and facilitating their performance and developments while ensuring that the departmental structure and skills are developed to meet changing requirements.
  • To be actively involved in supporting to the HACCP team
  • To be directly involved with enquiries from local authorities EHOs, TSOs etc To effectively manage the customer complaints system, liaising with the customer and providing management information to facilitate corrective actions.
  • To ensure QMS and associated systems are maintained to give up to date information in product files, factory specifications (including one page raw material specifications) etc and to maintain document control throughout.
  • To manage product information and technical databases and establish compliance/trending of nutritionals, micro standards and customer complaints.

The Candidate:

  • Formal qualification to Degree/ HND standard or above in Food Technology or related discipline
  • Experience in chilled food manufacturing environment within a similar role (Technical Manager/ Quality Manager / Technical Services Manager /Compliance Manager etc.)
  • Understanding of food legislation and quality system management
  • Experience in a customer facing role and dealing with major retailers
