Role: Health, Safety Environmental and Compliance Manager
Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: £33k plus bonus, pension, life and Private Health insurance.

A Health, Safety, Environmental and Compliance Manager is required by a highly regarded fresh produce organisation based in West Yorkshire. This is an exciting time to join the H&S department during a time of growth, development and expansion.

Taking on this role you will be required to drive Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance across all areas of the Business, you will be supporting the business Corporate Environmental Sustainability program through a mix of initiatives designed to encourage and develop continuous improvement.
You will be ensuring that a culture of safety is prevalent throughout the Business Unit, primarily focussing on incident and accident prevention, ensuring that all legislative and Company Policies are implemented and meet legal requirements. You will also be required to guide the business providing information, training and support as required.

Key role requirements include:

To Establish an Environmental Strategy and set Environmental targets for the business with those holding principle accountability, monitor and report on performance, Ensure the Environmental awareness is fully embedded across site at all levels.
To Mentor, Counsel and Coach Health, Safety and Environmental reps, line managers and colleagues who are not confident in their area of competence, building morale and generally encouraging to ensure that best performance is given.
To Bring a sense of urgency to Health, Safety and Environmental management, demonstrating an active approach and being willing to get involved in order to increase the pace to achieve goals and objectives.
To work within organisational requirements, being systematic and factual when dealing with internal colleagues and external officals.
To provide optimum levels of leadership where required, to identify training needs, to develop training materials and arrange delivery of training.
To Develop, implement and maintain a full internal auditing system against both corporate and legal requirements, with audits no less than 3 monthly with relevant internal stakeholders.
To ensure the company has SHE support 24/7

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a relevant Health and Safety role
Previous experience in FMCG or Manufacturing environment
Minimum of NEBOSH Diploma in OH&S and NEBOSH Environmental Mgt Diploma, with 2 years post qualification experience.
Solid exposure and knowledge working with regulatory authorities in respect of health and safety, to include HSE, Insurance companies, Occupational health and solicitors.
Experience of managing environmental initiatives and understanding good corporate sustainability,
Good working knowledge of the CRC and CCA schemes
Previous knowledge of managing a successful team
Ability to balance / manage across functions and business units.
They should also be a confident communicator, being comfortable communicating at all levels from operational colleagues to Senior Management Team and Board Level.

Ideally they will also have experience of working within a corporate loss prevention system and have previously held a role with cross site responsibility, and will have carried out a health and safety role within an operational environment.
