Description

Cargill’s portfolio of refined vegetable oils allows our customers in food manufacturing, retail, catering and food services to create a wide range of tasty and nutritious food products. We partner with our customers  to develop innovative products and solutions together to help them meet their consumer’s requirements.
 
We are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced Production Coordinator for our crush and refinery plant in Liverpool (Seaforth) to provide all aspects of operational leadership to the Refinery Team to ensure high performance in the attainment of short and long-term facility objectives. 

Main Tasks:

  • Responsible for the operational efficiency of the refinery in order to deliver the projected volume of product at the right quality
  • Continuous improvement mind set to ensure process efficiencies such as yield, raw material use and energy to strive for an even more competitive edge
  • Delivery of the P&L in line with targets based on sound business decision making
  • Provide safety leadership within the refinery operational area through ongoing support with existing safety systems such as reporting near miss and BBS (Behavioural Based Safety) and incident reporting
  • Supporting the deployment of new safety systems or improvements through training and modification work
  • Responsible for the ongoing training and development of the refinery operating team through regular development discussions and identify appropriate individual and group training needs aligned with achieving the business objectives
  • Build and manage the annual Refinery budget in terms of fixed and variable costs. Execute on proactive budgets to ensure investment is realised. Regularly track and review spending against budget, investigating, reporting and major deviations. Approval of spend on a daily basis through informed decision making process

Qualifications:

  • Proven industrial processing experience (refinery experience preferred but not essential)
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a science or engineering, or qualified through extensive relevant experience
  • Mechanical and Process operation experience with  strong technical knowledge
  • Continuous improvement mind set with proven experience of making effective changes that improve process efficiencies
  • Team development experience with the ability to coach and motivate a team
  • Strong commitment to health and safety
  • Proactive and capable of making independent decisions
  • Service orientated with a hands on and Can Do attitude
  • Strong organiser able to plan and set priorities
