Head Quartered in St Albans and employing almost 4,000 colleagues across multiple UK sites, we’re introducing innovative new products and changing how people cook and consume food.  Almost 95% of UK households have our products in their cupboards, and we have a burgeoning International business.

This high profile role will provide Technical support for the International business unit and when required, effective management of the technical Interface between the International team and the Central Technical team in the areas of Food Regulations, Specifications, Quality, Food safety and Technical support

Operating within the standards and framework defined by the Technical Director, the key focus will be on ensuring compliance of the Premier Foods products with the local food regulations in all markets in which it operates

The broader remit would be to ensure that full customer support is provided to enable a world class customer service

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities


  • World wide food legislation surveillance including label templates, ingredient permissibility, claims substantiation
  • Worldwide food safety legislation surveillance
  • Ensure that International operates within the company’s policy in terms of pack copy and approach to marketing Company Brands

Customer information

  • Enable the listing and shipping of the International portfolio in existing and new markets by providing the relevant information to customers and freight forwarders
  • Develop a proactive approach with regard to facilitating the clearance of the Premier Foods products around the world
  • Accessing Premier Foods Technical Information Systems and translating  it into formats suitable for International customers
  • Deal with day-to-day customer requirements for information and technical advice

Complaint management

  • Working closely with the consumer  care team and overseas customers to ensure all complaints are answered in a timely manner working closely with the central technical team and the factories
  • Develop a continuous improvement program for the International product range integrated into the wider Group program

Lead a world class technical services

  • Build an efficient network of food legislation consultants worldwide to ensure 100% compliance of the Premier Foods portfolio at all time
  • Ensure that the International needs are being integrated into the Group Technical strategy

Coordination of Technical needs within International

  • Coordinate Technical needs for the International team and be the interface between Technical and International
  • Actively co-ordinates and engages others to ensure all International requirements are met
  • Works with the Technical Team to ensure accurate implementation and analysis of agreed standards
  • Work in close collaboration with the central Technical team to adapt processes and systems to meet International needs eg 3rd party audits, supplier approval etc...

International Bespoke Skus

  • Define product quality standards suitable for a given International market
  • Manages a systematic process with the team through to implementation & launch
  • Defines appropriate product quality attributes and provides training for new products to manufacturing teams

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2-3 year experience in  an International regulatory environment
  • Food regulation experience [2-3 years]
  • Retailer customer support experience
  • Managing multiple small projects at any one time
  • Network of regulatory support around the world
  • Familiar with Product Specification databases
  • Maintenance of data integrity and Brand IP
