This is an exciting position working for an independently owned chilled food manufacturer. The company import and process products from all over Europe and are dedicated to creating products to the highest technical standards from their purpose-built facility.
As Production Maintenance Engineer, you will ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe, legal and clean state to enable high care food production giving priority to maintaining all equipment to minimise breakdowns and delays and ensure efficient production.
You will also ensure fabric of the building is maintained, put forward ideas on how to improve equipment to enable production to be more efficient, ensure all equipment is clean and signed off by the technical team as fit for use following any maintenance work, completion of pneumatic maintenance, complete work required & maintenance records and action pest proofing recommendations.
To be considered for the Production Maintenance Engineer role, you will have a good engineering background of working in a manufacturing / FMCG environment, most preferably food manufacturing. You will ideally hold either an engineering degree or C&G / HND qualifications plus possess working knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems and PLC controls. To succeed you will be able to work under pressure and have an adaptable work approach together with excellent problem solving and time management skills.
The Production Maintenance Engineer job is based in the South Central / Home Counties region and is paying c. £25,000 according to individual skills and previous experience. The working hours are 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, however the flexibility to work occasional weekends is required.
