We are looking for a Logistics Manager to provide strategic leadership and work with peers to develop the site to achieve operational excellence. My client is a leading chilled food manufacturer and this is a brand new role for the business, giving you the opportunity to have a real influence.

The Candidate:

  • We’re looking for a Logistics/Distribution Manager who has solid operational experience of working in fast paced, FMCG, large scale warehousing and transport environment, preferably in chilled food.
  • You will be a commercially astute professional who has the ability to be work with our internal and external customers including the major retailers.
  • You will be able to demonstrate a track record in build strong working relationships, understanding customer Supply Chains and optimising service levels and delivering best practice.
  • You will have strong and demonstrable knowledge of warehouse management systems and extensive experience in project management

Key responsibilities include:

  • As Logistics Manager you will provide leadership and coaching for the warehouse and despatch teams and identify and mentor several future successors.
  • Using a balanced scorecard approach, track site performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Facilitate the creation of improvement initiatives to deliver each key objective, ensuring the involvement of operational teams.
  • Encourage and support the leadership team to improve their capabilities to deliver high performing teams.
  • Influence the implementation of personal development and training plans for all employees work to ensure technical competency of each individual.
  • Track the progress of Improvement activities and employee involvement through regular AOP reviews.
  • Actively seek opportunities to collaborate, agree strategy and share best practice and develop appropriate cross functional relationships.
  • Develop effective working relationships and promote a positive company image with customers, suppliers, neighbours, union officials and local area.
