Production Shift Manager - 6pm till 3am - Working Sun to Thu
The Production Shift Manager role at reports into the Site Production Manager and has a team of Process Leaders, Technical Operators,Skilled Operators and Operators reporting into the role.
The Production Shift Managers role is to manage the production process and production staff in order to meet Cost, Quality,Productivity and Safety targets set by the Company, consistently and cost effectively.
Effectively manage all operations within the specified sections to ensure KPI’s targets and business objectives are met.
Liaise with relevant internal departments to ensure the product is produced, loaded and dispatched in accordance with the ‘Production Plan’.
Ensure operations are conducted in compliance with customer specifications, whilst meeting cost, quality, productivity and H&S Targets.
Develop and review good working practices and SOP’s in accordance to company policies
Adhere to Food Standards legislation throughout the production process. Supervise quality of product and ensure non-conformances are dealt with in accordance with company policy in a timely and efficient timescale.
Implement and review continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime.
Ensure consistency in the application of the companies disciplinary, grievance and absence procedures
Ensure appraisals and reviews are carried out with staff
Continually look to develop staff within the section to ensure that staff are fully utilising their skills
Generalist supervisory experience across broad range of disciplines involved in people management
Experience working in FMCG environment or any exposure of fast pace manufacturing operation
Relevant knowledge of Food Standards Act & relevant Health & Safety issues desirable
Qualifications in Health & Safety and Food Hygeine
Knowledge of Continuous improvement & the Lean Principles
