New Product Development Buyer
With their core values of innovation, taste and value our client is a hugely successful manufacturing company producing a range of award winning chilled food products for the major retailers. They are now seeking an NPD Buyer to drive the key processes related to Product Development purchases.
Working closely with the lead buyers you will source NPD purchases ensuring that they meet demand requirements and align with material strategy. You will ensure that product costs are kept within agreed boundaries and that budgets are used effectively and efficiently. You will also gather information from various sources to accurately predict supply forecasts which support the NPD team and their costing processes. Liaising with your key supplier contacts to keep up with their latest products, you’ll attend important supplier visits and will negotiate contracts to drive business forward whilst simultaneously developing working relationships and enhancing your networking skills.
You will have previously worked within a procurement or NPD capacity for FMCG items and will have ideally used buying and reporting systems in the past. Degree educated you’ll be full of drive and ambition with a creative, can-do attitude and strong interpersonal and influencing communication skills. You’ll have great negotiation skills and will be keen to work in a busy office with an unfailing level of enthusiasm and energy to drive business forward and succeed. Finally you’ll have excellent numeracy coupled with quality focus and commercial acumen.
