These highly skilled and award winning bakery connoisseurs produce a range of mouth-watering morsels for a variety of UK retailers. They are looking for a talented NPD Technologist to join their creative team for a 12 month contract.

The Role

In this vibrant role you’ll be given the chance to really apply your patisserie and viennoiserie skills to develop fantastic concepts for new products as well as updating and adapting existing ranges. Using your industry understanding to ensure products are in line with the latest trends whilst still having that competitive edge. As part of the dynamic NPD team you’ll design and deliver delicious samples for product presentations, impressing high profile customers with your recipe knowledge and culinary skills.

You’ll work on a wide range of projects from concept to launch, working with internal Technical and Process teams to guarantee products are produced in line with the critical path as well as customer deadlines, budgets and quality standards. In addition you will be instrumental in benchmarking and carrying out competitor analysis, identifying gaps in the market for potential business growth and ensuring new products are at the forefront of innovation.

The Person

We are looking for a qualified bakery technologist who has previous experience of working within the food manufacturing industry. You’ll have worked in a fast paced innovations / production kitchen environment where you have gained commercial awareness and a good understanding of the NPD process including costings. Ambitious and creative you’ll have the ability to develop products that capture the latest trends and ingredients as well as being technically sound. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential for captivating and impressing your customers with products that leave consumers wanting more.
