We are now recruiting for an Automation Systems Engineer / Specialist to join our site based in Llandyrnog, which produces a range of award winning cheddar cheese. The successful candidate will work on a days roles Monday to Friday as standard, reporting into the Engineering Team Leader, and will be a key member of the team responsible for planning and delivering operational procedures and setting departmental continous improvement objectives to deliver the business policies and programmes. Duties include:
*Installation, maintenance and upgrading of site automation and instrumentation systems to provide full plant availability and meet production requirements
*Determines automation and instrumentation maintenance priorities through liaison between Engineering, Production and Process departments.
*Identify and prioritise CI activities in their specific area.
*Participates in and contributes to LEAN initiatives such as FMECA, RCA & KAIZEN etc.
*Ensures the correct automations spare parts and consumables are maintained and controlled.
*Responsible for own staff, including employee development and the Our People process.
*Completes and updates plant maintenance records complying with all departmental procedures.
*Provides support to shift based Automation System Engineers to ensure a rapid response to plant and equipment failures in a cost-effective manner.
*Performs all activities in accordance with company and statutory requirements for Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety.
We are looking for a effective communicator who can work well as part of a team and has a background as a skilled technical education/technical engineer/engineering apprenticeship, together with:
*3-5 years of technical and/or maintenance experience after completed training or an Arla Foods-trained maintenance technician.
*Experience of automation and instrumentation systems
*In depth knowledge of PLC systems including Rockwell SLC500 and ControlLogix 5000, hardware and software.
*SCADA experience, Wonderware Intouch and System Platform
*HMI familiarity including PanelView and FactoryTalk View ideally
*Server expertise inclusive of virtualisation.
*Instrumentation proficiency including pressure, level, flow, temperature, ph and conductivity with 4-20mA transmission.
*Higher level electrical or automations qualifications (HNC or HND) or equivalent.
