Interim Head of Technical
We're working with a buoyant business in a busy sector. They're racking up wins in their category, and taking business with the major retailers of their competition. The market is a busy one, with demands from the retailers at an all time high. They're investing and are aspiring to be a dominant player not just in their core category, but in the industry in general.
The site has struggled for a lack of strong technical management over a prolonged period of time. You're remit is both broad and deep, and so it's going to be fun, and challenging. Firstly, the technical function needs restructuring. Secondly, the retailer relationships need to be both protected and developed. Thirdly, there's work to be done on the culture.
The good news is that you have the backing of both group and site based senior management. The need for change is both recognised and being addressed. You get to be the instrument of that change.
You need to have a track record of successful change implementation.
Best case scenario, this is as an interim, but if you've done outstanding work as a permanent employee and can demonstrate you'll be able to succeed as an interim (and are available quickly), then get in touch.
The site has a relatively tough culture, so having experience on sites that aren't all sunshine and daisies is going to be a help.
The project is likely to run for at least six months, so availability for that period is important.
It should be obvious, but the following are essential:
Food manufacturing background in technical.
Considerable experience as a senior technical manager, or site based technical on a big, challenging site.
Chilled experience is going to be a must.
What you'll get.
You're going to get all of these - happy days.
- Support from the wider business.
- Regular, predictable pay with very short payment terms.
- Exposure to major retailers on a turnaround project.
- A good length of contract with a good daily rate.
- Exposure to a key position with a major food manufacture with acquisition plans - do well, there'll likely be more work.
What to do.
Get in touch, now!
It's crazy busy out there, so if I don't pick up, call again. If I don't answer your email, call or email. And for the love of all that is holy, please don't limit your approach to a LinkedIn request. It isn't the first thing I look at, and if you don't either phone or email as well, it can easily get missed.
