We are a High-Quality Luxury Dessert Manufacturer situated in a pleasant rural location. 

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Development Kitchen Manager to join a well-established NPD Team.  This is a great opportunity to be part of developing and maintaining our diverse product base as well as bringing new ideas. 

The main purpose of the role is the management and lead a development kitchen/team developing artisan dessert product, your primary duties will include:

Resource management - test kitchen, raw materials, equipment and associated team

Provision of launch concepts based on consumer taste trends

Managing the development of new products, product improvements, cost reductions and product efficiency from initial concept brief, formulation, trial to full factory production and implementation.

Team management for delivery and successful scale up of new products, product improvement, cost reduction, ingredient, formula, specification or process changes.

Ensure accurate collation of concept information: ingredient, recipe, product characteristics, shelf life and process parameters

Liaising with sale team and customers in the creation of new products and product improvements, in line with capability and cost targets

Sourcing, testing, and raising technical approval for the application of novel ingredients

Document all work according to established procedures and guidelines

Hosting and recording internal and customer product sampling panels

Maintaining awareness of industry trends, consumer requirements and the availability of novel ingredients and processing aids.

Experience

  • In a similar role within the food industry
  • A proven track record of concept to launch
  • Previous experience of working on product improvement projects
  • Team management
