We are currently recruiting a Production Technician to work in our creamery department within our Dairy based at Stourton, near Leeds. The working hours for this role will be 42 hours per week, working on a shift rota of 4 on, 4 off. Including 23 days holiday a year.

Responsibilities
Reporting into the Team Leader, the role will involve leading the department to achieve and surpass production targets through the use of performance management tools and process confirmation by using lean tools such as top loss and continuous improvement. You will promote and practice a strong safety culture amongst the team and peers whilst upholding a high level of GMP and adhere to 5S standards.

You will also have the opportunity to deputise for the team leader on a 4-shift rotation with the other technicians to enhance your development as a leader.

You will be responsible for ensuring that company policies and procedures are maintained with regard to Food Safety, GMP, Customer Codes of Practice, Safety, Health & Environment and operating practices. Through effective team work, you will achieve site Must Win Battles and Tactical Implementation Plans.

Skills
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the correct leadership behaviours that a role of this nature demands. You will be a confident communicator and team player with strong attention to detail. Ideally, you will have experience in an operational role within a manufacturing or logistics environment with knowledge of lean tools and techniques. Computer skills are required with previous use of SAP and Microsoft Office advantageous.
