My client is looking for a IT Support Technician / Apprentice to work in a small but efficient and future driven department. The core focus of this key role is to learn and master the day-to-day maintenance and development of the company's IT systems, providing effective front line assistance on any technical issues or queries within the business, as well as educating end-users on IT best practices.

 The Role

  • Capturing and categorizing problems and support requests in a ticket-based system
  • Providing IT assistance to business users over the telephone, through use of remote tools or in-person
  • Manage personal call queue, ensuring that all tickets are updated regularly
  • Escalating IT assignments to the 2nd or 3rd level of the IT department where necessary
  • Installation and relocation of computers, printers and other peripherals
  • Installation and configuration of software on desktops, laptops and network server
  • Ensuring all equipment and user logs are maintained within the asset management system
  • Working alongside senior colleagues to enhance the range of IT services

The Candidate

  • Proven experience in IT troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Proven and reliable timekeeping and attendance records
  • Professional communication skills with a focus on end-user satisfaction and fulfilment
  • Escalating IT assignments to the 2nd or 3rd level of the IT department where necessary
  • Ability to demonstrate ownership and follow through of all tasks methodically and to a high standard
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and above
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Evidence of personal development in the field of IT
