My client is looking for a Finance Manager or a Management Accountant looking to take the next step in their career, you will be site finance lead. The successful candidate will be expected to support, guide and advise the Senior Leadership Teams business decisions through the provision of insightful, relevant and evidence-based financial information ensuring the continued profitability of the business. Manage cost-saving projects through involvement in the creation of new products and the reporting of Operational KPI’s such as waste, efficiencies, etc. Support and manage the implementation of the M3 (ERP) system.

The Role

  • Production and analysis of weekly & monthly P&L accounts and communication of report to Senior Team
  • Investigate significant variances and analyse trends to influence and advise the business in regards to; accruals, pre-payments, overheads, variances to budget, weekly margins against standard, changes to recipes and the accurate recording of yields & waste
  • Management of business information system to extract, analyse and communicate efficiencies, run-rates, productivity, variances and trends
  • Creation and management of BOM system including bi-annual review, reviewing; efficiencies, waste, cost in preparation of the budget and forecast, material and labour usage
  • Take ownership of the financial evaluation of commercial projects from concept to launch and beyond, including; involvement in weekly meetings, capturing information regarding new SKU’s, full involvement in the creation and costing of products to ensure correct pricing and margins achieved for product ventures
  • Creation, review and analysis of rolling monthly commercial forecasts, budget preparation, submissions and re-forecasts
  • Creation and management of profitability by customer and product, ensuring the profitability of the business is maintained and margins are accurately recorded and maintained
  • Review of the monthly commercial finance pack
  • Preparation of pre and post promotional activity analysis
  • Ad-hoc Finance requirements, including, but not limited to; annual insurance renewal information, annual audit document preparation, liaison on M3 financials

The Candidate

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA etc)
  • Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing business
  • Operational accounting experience is essential (costing, variance, labour, materials etc.)
  • Excellent analysis and financial interrogation skills
  • Full grasp of production margins, bill of materials and variance reporting
  • Strong commercial acumen with understanding of an NPD process
  • Ability to meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Advanced Excel experience with an ability to work with large, complex spreadsheets
