Working as a Quality Assurance Assistant, you will ensure that all production standards are
maintained to our exacting standards; maintain the traceability system and organise the archiving
of all production records; ensure all recording equipment is calibrated and used effectively whilst
providing full support to the Production team by sharing your expert knowledge on all aspects of
Responsibilities of the job include:
Ensure that all our products are of a high and consistent quality
Ensure all products are safe and legal
Maintain an up-to- date knowledge of products and encourage team members to develop their product knowledge
Liaise with the Production team
Liaise with accreditation bodies, and local authority to assist during factory audits
Investigate and record customer complaints
Audit all Production and Hygiene departments
Liaise with Pest Control contractors
Ensure that all waste is stored effectively and removed in a timely manner
File specifications of all supplies and ensure that they are of the correct edition
Ensure that all supplies have a Certificate of Analysis or Compliance
Maintain training records for all team members
Specify quality requirements of raw materials with suppliers
Investigate and set standards for quality/health and safety
Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with standards at both national and international level
Work with operating staff to establish procedures, standards, systems and procedures
Produce, analyse and distribute statistical information.
Qualifications and training required
A qualification in food science or food technology would be preferable however qualifications in
other subjects such as business studies/management, materials science/technology, textile
technology, process engineering, would also be considered.
Relevant work experience in a food manufacturing environment is highly desirable and may have
been gained during a final year placement whilst studying.

It is also essential to have good numerical skills and an understanding of statistics.
