Assistant Technical Manager, Norfolk
Progressive, growing and reputable food manufacturer in Norfolk is seeking an experienced Technical professional to champion excellence...
Norfolk - what is not to like - the rolling broads, walking, sailing, a beautiful coastline; natural beauty at its finest. You may already be lucky enough to have this on your doorstep or you may long for it. This is an opportunity to live and work in the area, in a stable and growing company, with a great work / life balance. We would really like to hear from experienced Quality Managers / Technical Managers who are looking for somewhere to make their mark, bring quality excellence and leadership skills to a team; train coach and develop and watch them flourish.
The site itself from the fabrication point of view may not be a natural beauty (some say I am sometimes too honest!) but it is the people and the product that truely makes this place. Long-standing service and unique processing produces quality products that lead the way in the market. Ambient products, supplied direct to manufacturers and foodservice customers! As a site it is undergoing a QA journey and requires a leader to implement and drive this forward. The team make this business, you are given autonomy and ownership from day one, and will be supported in a friendly and professional culture.
In this role you will be hands-on, you can expect to be working with shop floor quality teams, production teams and wider management and will revise, rewrite, design, implement and challenge quality systems and culture on a daily basis, creating a new, proactive Quality Assurance culture. Our client is looking for you to use your expertise to identify the gaps, and develop effective solutions, and is on board to support you through this change. This is somewhere you will be able to see the fruits of your labour quite quickly and see real evolution to ensure the site is working to retailer quality standards.
Day to day you can expect to be hands-on, leading and managing a small quality team. You may also travel to other sites and work in partnership with different business units, there are opportunities for career progression for the right person. You will review the current quality systems and procedures, make recommendations to senior management and implement change, you will ensure compliance to HACCP and TACCP, you will evolve an "audit ready" site, with pro-active QA culture and will manage all other Quality day to day aspects around quality, legislation and compliance. This may include but not be limited to allergens, specifications, non-conformances, complaints and stepping into the Technical Manager role when required.
I am able to move quickly on suitable candidates so please apply today to get that ball rolling!
