Site Manager Southampton

Hovis Limited is a vertically integrated baking and flour milling business currently operated by The Gores Group as part of a stand-alone joint venture. The Company was created in April 2014 to help release new investment to upgrade its operational infrastructure and reinvigorate the Hovis brand, building on its rich heritage. Our appointed CEO Nish Kankiwala is bringing a wealth of commercial and marketing experience from previous roles with Unilever, Pepsico and Burger King.

Hovis Limited employs approximately 3,200 people at 9 bakeries, 6 flour mills and 2 regional distribution centres across the UK. Hovis is one of the largest bakery brands in the UK and amongst the best known food brands in the country. Hovis Limited also makes Mothers Pride, Ormo and retailer branded bakery products and supplies flour to a range of customers under its Rank Hovis, Fleming Howden and Holgran trading platforms.

FUNCTION : Milling

DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain

ROLE PURPOSE: To deliver Quality, Health & Safety and Financial Performance at Southampton Site by leading the implementation of an agreed change plan that engages the Southampton Site.

Strategic Development

  • Develop and agree a 3 year site change plan focused on quality and safety by delivering the right balance of site structure, effectiveness and efficiency that engages the Southampton team
  • Lead implementation of workstreams to deliver the business plan

Business Development

  • Deliver a safe, clean site
  • Deliver a supply chain cost efficiency and service effectiveness plan
  • Develop and maintain senior relationships with key stakeholders
  • Business Management
  • Implement and maintain effective business management processes aligned to Hovis Ltd governance matrix
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes in line with business requirements
  • Manage delivery of customer service and operational performance targets
  • Rank Hovis § Ensure Rank Hovis Exec team are fully informed on Southampton mill
  • Leadership performance and align the Southampton site to Rank Hovis Milling Ltd requirements and policies
