Machine Minding Team Leader/Production Team Leader

An exciting opportunity for a Machine Minder / Production Team Leader  has arisen within an exciting, growing and market leading packaging and snack food manufacturer the Cambridgeshire area

To succeed in this role you’ll:

  • Set up and operate the machinery to set controls laid down in the standard operating procedure
  • Ensure the line runs at the optimum specified run rate, with little or no stoppages
  • Complete and assists in changeovers within the minimum timescale 
  • Escalate any breakdowns through the agreed procedure
  • Adhere to GMP standards at all times e.g. clean as you go, prevention of foreign bodies
  • Identify any damage and repair immediately or when unable to repair ensure the issue is escalated and documented appropriately
  • Complete and action fault finding exercises on machines either broken down or not running at the optimum run speed , working with engineering to ensure machinery is operating to the required performance standard
  • Operate checkweighers and metal detectors and take an active interest in all other areas of the line
  • Ensure material waste is kept to a minimum at all times, preventing on going issues with material variance by ensuring all depositors and weights are within the tolerances set in the specification
  • Utilise skills on the line to ensure maximum productivity
  • Provide on the job training for line staff and buddy new starters
  • Identify potential/succession planning and provide training and coaching to develop individuals/as appropriate
  • Ensure all staff work within a safe environment

  • Understanding of the fundamentals of food production
